2) Install F208-HPCLJ printer to your computer ( mhs1/printers )
3) If you didn't print either of the assignments from the purple textbook last week, you need to do so today.

4) MUST COMPLETE BOTH ACTIVITIES TODAY, BY THE END OF THE PERIOD.
In the purple book complete the following.
I will be following the the Grading Rubric at the bottom of each exercise so you better make sure you do everything as listed.
Make sure you include the correct class header/footer to each document.

I am a little disappointed about the amount or lack of work that was turned in yesterday. The sub said yall did not stay on task very well. I told you in my blog yesterday that yesterday was the last day you had to work on all of Lesson 3 exercises. So what was turned in will be graded and recorded, what isn't turned in will be zeroes. If you want to make up any of that work you will have to do it before school, any day. That is the only time I am here extra.

WARM-UP:
1) get a PURPLE - OFFICE APPLICATIONS VOLUME 1 BOOK FROM THE LONG TABLES.
2) log on, open a blank Word document
3) leave your computer logged on with the blank Word document open and MOVE OUT TO THE CENTER OF THE ROOM.

3) I will show you how to complete the group survey form on QUIA for all of your group members INCLUDING YOURSELF. You will take the survey 3-4 times depending on how many group members you had. Take it once for each employee, including yourself.

* Type all 31 terms listed on page 83 just as you see it in the book
* Make sure you follow these rules for formatting:
> always space 1 time before - and 1 time after a - (hyphen, minus symbol)
> there should be 2 spaces after ever period following the numbers
> the should be a period at the end of each definition.
> There should be no space before a period.
> Make sure you use Times New Roman font, size 10
* Print the whole thing and turn it in.
4) Get from the sub the Internet Scavenger worksheet. Complete this handout (it is FRONT AND BACK). Once completed turn it in to the 3rd period box. It is due today.

To create an underline in a blog post, highlight the word and then press ctrl+U at the same time. Press the ctrl key and the letter u at the same time.
Be sure to type ALL 15 WORDS AND DEFINITIONS.

* Remember I am gone today. Gone to a workshop. I expect yall to be on your best behavior for the sub. Treat the sub like you would treat me.
* You will have a lot to get done, so BE SURE TO READ ALL OF MY BLOG AND FOLLOW WHAT IT SAYS TO DO.
* Do not leave textbooks out on the desks. Make sure you put them in the back bookshelf on the third shelf.

WARM-UP:
1) Get your Computing Fundamentals Textbook from the back bookshelf
2) Leave your computer logged on, but now move out to the center of the room and get started on your worksheets

CLASS ACTIVITIES:
3) The sub will give you a worksheet (it's 2 sided). The front is for Lesson 4 and the back is for Lesson 5. You are to use the textbook to help you answer the questions for both Lessons. The handout is due at the end of the period (Whether you are done with it or not. Turn in what you have completed to the 3rd period turn in tray by the end of the period.)
4) Once you finish the worksheets for Lessons 4 & 5, I want you to your computer and work on www.freerice.com or www.freetypinggame.com for the rest of the class period. You need to watch your time, because you will need to record your WPM or your donation amount into your spreadsheet today. If you typed a maximum 25 words per minute, then go to your Grains of Rice spreadsheet and type in the box for today 25WPM. Or if you donated 500 grains of rice then type 500 in today's box on the spreadsheet.

3) Get a Computer Fundamentals Textbook from the back bookshelf (You will be required to get this textbook from the bookshelf daily (as my blog instructs you to) and you must put it back in the cabinet standing up straight at the end of the period each day it is used. I will be taking points of your daily grades if you leave your book at your desk at the end of the period.

Daily Agenda, Friday

TODAY IS THE LAST DAY OF THE SIX WEEKS! ALL WORK MUST BE TURNED IN.

WARM-UP:
1) Spend 10 minutes working on the Free Rice website.
Be sure at the end of 10 minutes that you record your Donation amount on your spreadsheet.
Print out your spreadsheet and turn it in to the tray by the end of the period today. This will be a daily grade.
2) Spend the next 10 minutes working on your keyboarding skills. Go to www.freetypinggame.net and continue with lessons, or play a typing game or take some timed writings to practice your keyboarding.

CLASS ACTIVITIES:
3) Ryan Harvey and Balla Djiba must take your six weeks test today.
4) Once you have completed the warm-up and have turned everything in that you were supposed to turn in, you may have some free time. Surf responsibly please.

Have a great weekend.
Be ready to start working on the computers and doing exercises next week.

CLASS ACTIVITIES:
5) Working on the Six Weeks Test reveiw. I will provide the correct answers the last 10 minutes of class IF EVERYONE STAYS ON TASK AND WORKS ON THEIR REVIEW DURING THE CLASS PERIOD. NO GAMES, NO VIDEOS, NO EMAIL, NO PLAYING AROUND.

The end of the six weeks is Friday.All tests and work must be turned in and graded by the end of the day on Thursday.

If you have yet to turn something in, or have not posted soemthing to your blog you need to do so before Thursday.

SIX WEEKS EXAM WILL BE ON THURSDAY - THIS WEEK!!! BE HERE, SO MAKE UPS DON'T HAVE TO BE DEALT WITH. THERE ISN'T A LOT OF TIME TO DEAL WITH MAKE-UPS EITHER. SO GET IT ALL DONE TODAY.

4) You have 20 minutes to take the test.

5) After everyone has finished their test, we will begin talking about lessons 7 and 8. We need to try and catch up with the other classes.

2) WARM-UP: go to the www.freetypinggame.net site and continue with your typing lessons. You should be on lessons 8, 9 or 10 by now.
3) Get out your "How the Computer Works" notes packet
4) Go to the J:/ drive, then open the Campus folder, then open the Projects folder, then open Crownover's Data files folder, then open the BCIS I data files folder and locate the "How the Computer Works" powerpoint and open it up.
5) Using the Powerpoint, complete your notes. Fill in everything from the PowerPoint that is not listed on the notes packet.
6) I will go over with you what's on the test (show you what you need to study)
7) Review activities on the Internet.

TEST TOMORROW. BE PREPARED.

You need to have completely lesson 5 today. (you have 5-10 minutes only) If you are past lesson 5, keep going.

2) I need to check blogs and have several of you make some changes on your blogs. I will come by and do this individually. The Blog Archive must be at the top of your page.

I am sorry that I am not there for yall today. My baby was sick last night and we were up most of the night. I would like for yall to be on task all period and do a great job for my sub today. I will have a reward when I get back if I get a good report from the sub.

I DO NOT WANT YALL LOOKING A VIDEOS ALL PERIOD.

To do today:
1) Log on to computer
2) check out this blog to find out assignments
3) Get a Personal Poem handout from the sub and complete that assignemnt as the directions tell you too. Be creative and show me all that you know about the computer and Microsoft Word. (I know you may have done this in your other BCIS class, but I would like you to do it on the computer so I see where your computer skills are and so I can get to know each of you a little better.)
4) Finish the Personal Poem assignment try and print it out if you know how to set up the printers. If not then just save it to your server and we will print in color tomorrow.
5) After you are done with your Personal Poem go to http://www.freetypinggame.net/.
  • Click on the Lessons Tab
  • Click start Lesson
  • Click start and begin typing.
  • Try to complete at least lessons 1-4. If you have already done lessons 1-4, then begin where you left off and type at least the next 1-4 lessons. We will be having a typing test tomorrow, so you need to be ready.
Yall be good for the sub and I will see you tomorrow.
